2016 BET Hip Hop Awards Cyphers (WATCH)

The Hip Hop Awards are just like every other awards show in many ways, but there’s one thing that sets it apart… the cyphers.

Each year, everyone tunes in to watch the rap cyphers. We get to see some of our favorite MCs spit a hot 16, and we might even discover a new fav in the process.

During this year’s cypher, they brought out some newbies and they brought out some greats.

From Young M.A. to Dead Prez, there were definitely an interesting mix of artists showcasing their ability to rock the mic. Even Chocolate Droppa, Kevin Hart’s rapper alter ego, made an appearance in a 2-man cypher led by Lil Wayne.

In the State Property cypher, Beanie Sigel made a surprise appearance as he randomly walked in on the cypher to drop a few lines.

Newcomer, Dave East, represented for Spanish Harlem and even Jidenna showed up to spit some bars.

Overall, the cyphers were cool but everyone could have maybe come harder and brought more heat with their rhymes.

However, Stic.man from Dead Prez’s freestyle was probably one of my personal favs.

Check out the cyphers below if you missed the show, and let us know who you think went the hardest.
