Black Thought, a member of the legendary hip hop group The Roots, appeared on Hot 97 recently and people haven’t stopped talking about it.


His 10-minute freestyle just may go in the hip hop history books. For those who still appreciate witty wordplay and head nodding punchlines, Black Thought’s flow was probably orgasmic to your ears.


He definitely took us back in time to when the lyrics carried the weight of the song, and when the ability to show rap skill was everything. Who knows how long people will talk about this golden moment in history, but it’s cool to see Black Thought be appreciated in this era of "mumble rap".
