Irv Gotti’s ‘Tales’ Anthology Debuts On BET

Murder Inc.’s Founder Irv Gotti was recently on The Breakfast Club talking about the new television series he was going to release through BET. Since that interview, with all the hype Gotti put around it, the anticipation for the show has been high. We have all been looking forward to seeing if Tales could potentially be a hit.

Tales is a scripted series that takes popular hip hop songs and turns them into narratives. After being in the hip hop industry for so long, it seems Gotti has figured out a new way to feed his love for the industry. If Tales is a hit, this will put the spotlight back on Gotti and his creative genius when it comes to hip hop music.

Turning old hip hop tracks into “mini movies” is pretty genius, especially if executed properly. The first episode of Tales premiered last night (June 27). The soundtrack for the debut episode was NWA’s F*ck The Police. The storyline involved race reversal, where black people were the corrupt cops, and whites were the oppressed citizens getting caught up in the corrupt justice system.

Tales was filmed in Atlanta and will have appearances by a lot of known actors and entertainers within the upcoming episodes.  You can expect storylines from songs such as Fetty Wap’s Trap Queen, Meek Mill’s Cold Hearted, Jay-Z’s 99 Problems, Notorious B.I.G.’s Story to Tell, and Slick Rick’s Children’s Story.

You can catch Tales on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on BET
