[New Music] Chicago Artist Noname Drops Telefone Mixtape

You have heard her voice on Chance The Rapper’s latest album Coloring Book. Noname is the Chicago rapper who just may be the next out of the city to blow.

She has a distinct sound, a voice that stands apart from other rappers and that’s just one thing about Noname that makes her so interesting. Telefone is her debut project and her Chicago story is spilled out onto each track over melodic beats as she takes her listeners along for her journey.

She released her project on July 26th and she executive produced it as well, along with Cam O’bi and Phoelix. Telefone introduces us to Noname and she definitely made a statement with this project. The way she subtly rhymes and flows on every song is extremely soothing. The tape has the spirit of old school hip hop but it’s still fresh and original at the same time. She even has Atlanta’s own Raury and songbird Eryn Allen Kane featured on the 10-tracked project.

On her song Reality Check she says, “Opportunity knocked and it’s finally time to answer” and it looks like she did just that with this mixtape, she answered. We hope to hear way more from this artist in the future.

Noname has got our interest, let’s see what she does with it.
