Rae Sremmurd’s ‘Black Beatles’ Takes the No.1 Spot on the Billboards

If you’ve been on the internet at any point this last month, you’ve more than likely came across random videos of people freezing in time with Rae Sremmurd’s Black Beatles track playing in the background.

The Mannequin Challenge has definitely become one of the biggest internet challenges to date. So many videos have surfaced of people doing the challenge. From the Dallas Cowboys, Young Thug, Desiigner, Kevin Hart, random people in nightclubs, to Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s hospital labor unit video, to the Cleveland Cavs doing the challenge with First Lady Michelle Obama. Even Destiny’s Child reunited to take part in the internet craze, followed up by Hillary Clinton and her crew, and Paul McCartney, an original Beatle even joined in on the fun.

Although the challenge was started by a group of high school students in Florida, Rae Sremmurd is probably getting the biggest payoff from its popularity. The Mannequin Challenge has given even more attention to the rap duo’s single Black Beatles. Recently, they appeared on ESPN’s Sportscenter to share their thoughts on the challenge going viral. They made sure to give credit to the kids who actually started the challenge and while Slim Jim, one of the members of Rae Sremmurd told ESPN, they weren’t interested in making “a song for no challenge”, they do appreciate all the attention the song has been receiving.

Rae Sremmurd is definitely winning right now, Black Beatles went to No.1 on the Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart this week.
