Charlie Murphy is often introduced as the brother of Eddie Murphy, but over the years he had definitely made a name for himself. In fact, one could argue that Murphy became one of the greatest comedians of our time.

People started paying attention to him from his role on Dave Chappelle’s very popular comedy series Chappelle Show.  Murphy’s “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories” skits were hilarious. During the skits, he described various encounters he and his brother Eddie Murphy had with different celebrities. The Prince and Rick James’ stories became classic. Murphy also did stand-up comedy tours and acted in a few movies.

Unfortunately, we have lost one of the people who had the ability to make our stomachs hurt from laughter. Charlie Murphy passed away Wednesday (April 12) due to a battle with leukemia. He was 57 years old.

Charlie Murphy was a rare find in the comedic world. We are thankful to have been able to witness such a funny soul.

Rest in Paradise Charlie Murphy.  Darkness Everybody Darkness!
