Shonda Rhimes has changed the game when it comes to the face of primetime television. With shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder, under her belt, there’s no surprise that she’s hot commodity.

Now it seems Rhimes is removing Shondaland from ABC and relocating to Netflix.

“Shonda Rhimes is one of the greatest storytellers in the history of television. Her work is gripping, inventive, pulse-pounding, heart-stopping, taboo-breaking television at its best. I’ve gotten the chance to know Shonda and she’s a true Netflixer at heart — she loves TV and films, she cares passionately about her work, and she delivers for her audience. We’re so excited to welcome her to Netflix”, said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos of the new partnership.

While Rhimes has decided to partner up with Netflix, she isn’t just taking everything away from ABC. Reports are saying she will still have some ties there as well. As far the new collaboration, we can expect her to bring some great stories to Netflix.

After 15 years with ABC, Shondaland will now have a new home as Rhimes creates content exclusively for Netflix.

This is also a very big move for Netflix. It has become the most powerful streaming service for shows and films and it seems to only be getting bigger.
