Starbucks Looking To Hire 10,000 Immigrants

Donald Trump’s motion to attempt to place travel bans on refugees from countries where Muslims are the majority hasn’t really sat well with people. Since Trump has entered office, he has continued to be the creator of much controversy. Many have protested his outrageous executive order created to halt travel from several countries that include; Sudan, Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Iran. He’s also attempting to enforce a process that stops refugees from these countries form entering the U.S. for 120 days while a federal review is done.

Starbucks has been one of the major corporations who have stepped up to the plate to retaliate against Trump’s order.

Howard Schultz, Starbucks chairman and CEO recently announced that the coffee chain will be hiring more immigrants within the next 5 years. 10,000 hires to be exact.

“Starbucks has and will always stand for opportunity – opportunity for our young people who are working to land their first job in the 75 countries where we do business, opportunity for our farmers who care so deeply for the highest of quality coffee we offer to customers all around the globe, and yes, opportunity for those who come to America in search of their own fresh start – whether that is with Starbucks directly, or through our suppliers or our partner companies”, Schultz stated.

It’s good to see a huge corporation such as Starbucks taking a stand against Trump’s absurd motion to further divide people. What are your thoughts on Starbuck’s move?
