The Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for Kroger Comforts For Baby purified water. A mold by the name of Talaromyces penicillium has been found in the gallon water bottles with the sell-by-date between April 28, 2018 - October 10, 2018. This mold can cause major allergic reactions.

“The allergic reactions to the mold or mold spores are generally hayfever-like, with symptoms including sneezing, red eyes and skin rashes. Even those who aren’t allergic might get symptoms such as eye, skin and throat irritation. However, people who are allergic to the mold and also asthmatic may suffer asthma attacks. And infants with HIV or other immune system deficiencies could become infected, leading to “serious health consequences”, the FDA stated.

Kroger has allegedly removed the water from the shelves, but are strongly advising people to return their water to the store for a refund if they have purchased Kroger Comforts For Baby purified water with the sell-by-date between April 28, 2018 - October 10, 2018.
