The release of Kanye West’s ‘Famous’, the first single off Life of Pablo, broke the internet last night. Mr. West is back at it again with the creative controversy.

Everything Ye seems to do now, warrants some sort of shock value, and by now, we can all probably agree that it is very intentional. After all, this is the same guy who continues to compare himself to the likes of Steve Jobs, Michael Jackson, Walt Disney, and Picasso.

He debuted ‘Famous’ at The Forum in Inglewood, California. So what’s all the hype about? Well, the “visual” shows a bed filled with nude celebs. Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Amber Rose, Bill Cosby, Taylor Swift, Caitlin Jenner, Donald Trump, Chris Brown, Ray J, Rihanna, Ann Wintour, and George Bush all made appearances in bed together. Naturally, social media and blogs has had a field day with this since the premiere.

Of course the celebs/public figures mentioned were not all ACTUALLY in the video, but there’s rumors floating around that some of the cameos may be real. However, Kanye has yet to confirm or deny this. Ye told Vanity Fair that the video was “a comment of fame”.  The bed scene is a recreation of a 2008 painting by artist, Vincent Desiderio called “Sleep”.

So is the visual a thought-provoking masterpiece, or just Kanye’s attempt at doing the most to cause the most controversy? Some are calling it creatively brilliant, while others were left feeling confused.

The video is now streaming on TIDAL so if you would like to see the entire video, a TIDAL subscription would be necessary. Otherwise, you will probably be left in the dark until it is leaked to Youtube or some other video viewing platform.
